Many of the historical items in our archives have been donated to the Society.  If you have an item that you feel may have historic value to the Downingtown Area and you wish to donate it to us, please let us know.  Some wonderful items we have received over the years may have ended up in the trash if not for the foresight of the contributor.  Sometimes this happens when a loved-one passes away and the executors are unsure of what to do with certain items.

We are always on the look-out for old photographs including 35mm slides and home movies.  These are very valuable to us because they might include buildings that no longer exist, farmland that is now developed, important events that happened in Downingtown, or simply people that are going about their normal lives.  If you have photographs but want to keep them in your family, please consider letting us scan the images to include in our collection.
